2011 running, for me has heightened my outlook for this new year. I really can't believe where I'm at and thought running was taking a toll on my body from last years favorite races. A thought to post this pic as an idea to show I could not really have gotten to this point of my life without the foundation from Mom and Dad.

I've been employed at Harris RF Communications for about 5 years the very same building where Dad use to work 30 years ago. The company is about to transition to another larger building in a few months. On top of the emotional move, they've been more competitive in running the Chase Corp Championship's and will be in the Championship located in Singapore three days after me running in the Boston Marathon! I'll be in the first corral! This is my eighth straight year in Boston, my 43rd marathon in 11 years!

Jack true and Heaven

I'm not a good public speaker. In 2001 Pete's running club changed my life. The ten ugly men offered a 5K running race. I entered it and started running that resulted in to over 300 races to date. I'm just a small example of many runners and families he's influenced. Recently he's been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is living in Hospice.

Many people entered a run for him on Saturday. We met Pete after the run and shared experienc'es through the years. I won't forget. I am honored to run for his running club, GVH. His idea to entertain a 5K run before the festival has been a life changing experience.

Unlike the Mayans calendar date ending 12212012, mine seems to be just starting! I felt great at Fleet feet's 15K spring forward . My will is peaking and looking forward to the next running tour in Boston. A marathon with it's magic number, sixth and 35th total # of marathons to date since 2002. And some said the world was ging to end 1999.

Gold, Dusk and Trend

Gold going global! An idea as it seems to show in the dusk. The trend seems to show in accord with my running results posted 4 years ago. Running in my opener showed a great run close to a 5:30 p/mile for 5 miles. Something must be trying to show as a positive for the running year.

Timber, Timber and Timber

Timber has become a fellow people dog, resting in peace. And had great days with Us. It included an amazing swim journey, in which had become lost for over 10 hours of suspense, after fallen over board. Many comfort days and a great dog in memories with the roomies! Something I look back and smile with great memories! I hope I never forget. I want to relive those memories often.

Wow, My heart was pumping when I heard the news! Why not run for great news like this! I never would have thought my recent ex-roomate's giving up smoking! So, I ran home after 3 hours of running the Bay! Not cool downed, but ran! I stormed home once I witnessed their life adjustment to post it! I never would have thought. Look how many explanation points! 2009 is looking mighty healthy for the roomies! GOD BLESS!

Pray for Uncle Bill and Pete. Mom's Brother has been stricken with Cancer. Pete, the founder of a running club had a brian tumor removed. Uncle Bill has that stuborn gene that will help him overcome this major challenge for him and family. Pete 's club put on a race, which was my first race, 9 years ago. I don't think I'd be here in such great health, if wasn't for his idea to start a club and put on that 5K race at the "Ten Ugly Men". A great running buddy and I decided to do this run before the festival at Ellison park. His club was very instrumental to bring my health to an extreme that I could not imagine.

"i just had surgery for a real problem - i had a rare complication from
simple arthroscopy - may 6 - a little cartilage split cleaned up -
all was fine - wonderful joint surface - plenty of miles left - felt
like a runner in august - getting ready to train - then a different pain
and ... i developed osteonecrosis - a rare thing after a scope. the
bone is dying. the problem is that the cartilage needs the bone - well
nobody in buffalo wanted to do anything since most people get better
with rest. i got to baltimore but i lost - it was too late. the
cartilage just flapped off - the bone was gone - i have 1/3 of the joint
surface cartilage gone on the inner half of the knee upper bone - the
medial femoral condyle. i am non weight bearing for over a month. i
had microfracture done - a technique of drilling into the bone to
stimulate the bone to heal and fill in with a kind of cartilage -
fibroblastic cartilage - its not the same as good hyaline cartilage - i
don't think i could run on it - but i may get a cartilage transplant -
i have cartilage cells in the freezer - stored to maybe grow them to
transplant them back in. i won't run for 2 years if i go to that - if
at all. 20% end up with a knee replacement in 5 years from where i am
now. so ... tough prospects. tell everyone for me - run like its the
best thing you could ever do - 'cuz it really is - it is a great gift.
i will get along fine but it seems like i may not contribute anymore to
gvh. no laments - this is not morbid. this is about charging up for
opportunities when you got 'em.
i'll update over the months as i work towards getting back."

Head's up. It's been a healthy year of times that date back to 2004! I've turned to skies, try'en to figure out how I'm doing this. I've championed my competition. A PR at the turkey trot! A determination of running past pain!

Viewing a glorious meteorite coming down from the skies into Canada. 2009 will be a building block to endless happiness. Understanding my new injuries and timing the tours of 2009 might be the most challenging in my twelve year running history.

And a new hope, that Kenny can figure out a more healthy life style, since being diagnosed with Diabetes.

Yes! As a fan viewed yesterday's NYC marathon,

she stated "it's a great day to be a runner!"

It was so cool to be part of Kara Goucher's first marathon.

On mile 23, a child handed me a blowpop sucker. It was a thrill to open it and enjoy his gift as I toured my 33rd marathon. I felt so implied for him, from the gift. Reminding me not to give up from another recent injury and was obligated to pull through to the finish!

Zen, remembering and anouncement

Ready to jump in! Feelings of living in the now and just feel absolutely excited for the trip for Marc and the NYC marathon!

Looking back and remembering Dad. He brought many together and have pictures of him with Kennedy. Like me always want to be part of the event and stage.

The anouncement is difficult to decide whether to sustain the constant challenge of a marathon. Part of me say's - many NYC marathon's are left, but the body can only take so much.

dnf, Rochester Marathon, and pink

After getting my first "dnf" (two weeks earlier at the summer fest 15k run), in almost 175 races in my 7 year running history, I went into survival mode at the Rochester Marathon. They are not getting any easier and seems to start compounding my body and breaking down more easily.

But I didn't see any Pink elephants, which was present at the 2007 Chicago marathon. It was just as hot, if not more. Had to walk the tail end in Chicago.

The calf muscles are the most utilized muscle and is engaged 100 percent of the time when walking. The owner of Fleet Feet introduced me to compression socks that proved worthy for the Rochester Marathon!

Cazenovia Gold and Done

Apon the completion of my swim at the Cuz's Cazenovia Triathon, well it was bleek. Absolutely no energy, but got it done with the Bike and run. Great to see smiles on the twins as I aproached the finish.

Finished in first in my age bracket and like the French stating one thing to the Americans at Bejing, well they too got it done! What an exciting finish to the Olympic 4x relays! Captured gold.

Thanks Mom and Dad for moving to Rochester when I was 8. Now that I'm 48 and a workout that consisted a time of 1:08:00 is a count down as the Olympics has stated.

What a show and it show's commitment's as stated by China's greatest basketball player holding an 8 year old, a story of digging himself out and going back to the earthquake damaged school to save and help other classmates.

A reminder how things can be taken for granted and etched in my mind, hoping to find the 8's in my life.

So much is on the mind. If it's not then it must be 1999. Running has been concentrated in my life where my times have improved to times in 2004! Pain and the mind bring on faint of fatigue I never imagined. The end seems like a light at the end of the tunnel. Exactly how the mind battles with a best performance.

My legs felt like a shark was chomp'en on them. I knew it wasn't going to my day from the start of my 30th marathon. I struggled throughout the 112th Boston marathon. I guess it may be the age factor starting to set in. The cause is what kept me going.

The Freezeroo's have been completed going into the 2008 tour season. My 30th Marathon is in sight in Boston! Less running and more swimming has been the plan, which has been an improvement in my fitness!

WOW. That was my 28th marathon in five years.
Chicago, Illinois. I started up front. Fit runners were having dehydration issues. On pace for 3:00 up to the 1/2 way. I had to walk at the 22 mile marker. That was the second time I had to that. The other time was my first marathon. Yes, 10 thousand of 45 thousand people did not run.

It was a test for everyone. Runners and the City had to be prepared. Both were not.

Boston Implosion last night. Hope that's not the case for the marathon season. Yea, 2007! What a year makes. The body has it's challenges.

Rochester, Chicago and Yankee land is in line for the 100 mile workouts to highlight the year the next three months!

Have so many things to run for, from the cousins to the family. The focus is on and jumping for the chance for the comeback from my biking accident four months ago. My head scab is almost gone. I'm able to sleep on the side I tumbled on and have started to put an international marathon or Triathlon tour, with the payoff of my tree fort!

As I helped this old lady at a grocery store in Lake Placid, she stated "don't ever get old". I responded "Well, you must have great Memories!"

Yes Memories should be a plot in life! And chalk one up for the trip to Lake Placid. What a set-up. Tried to get in for next year, but sold out in minutes, on-line. Didn't realize you can register there, but have to stay over the next day and also have to donate an additional 500 dollars to register when it's sold out.

The Musselman half Iron at Geneva turned out to be a feat. My first 6 HOUR workout. Just tried to turn it into a positive without any timeline. It was a journey to see if I could finish. I admire the Iron person. A workout of 10 hours must be amazing to finish and hope to be along with them next year. I true honor and a life achiement.

It happened- the unthinkable, I guess I'm not invincible. At some point I'm going to lose control. I feel like a person that at most of the time, smiles at the negative. Never reasoning the opposite of healthy. Never questioning the dought of missing an opportunity to start with all.

It was dark. Dressed in my favorite shorts (pictured after the ride). I was in transition on a beautiful warm calm night down this very steep hill at Iron man speed. I know that since I was grinding upwards as well as downwards on my bike that I absolutely adored. I've seen pictures of people in beds with their bike's. Yes, if there was a way I would invent a way.

There's hardly any traffic at this time of night. A dark fast beast twice the size of a cat was sprinting directly in my path. It happened in a split second. There was no time to react. It seemed like it was hunting me. For whatever reason, nothing could be done to keep in my triathlon flight. Instead I was perplexed and strangely, relaxed as we collided.

I had a backpack around me, that had been won at my brother's golf tournament. It was cool, because a radio was integrated with it. On it was inscribed, Irish open! That was Dad's golf tournament that he coined in his day. Bro kept his tradition in full swing.

Yes, As I twisted, I fell on my shoulder, head and back. The cooler was smashed. It was added to my load of junk to the local spring cleanup facility. Dad must have been there because I believe it saved me from a worse injury. I'm not the safest person. I take it for granted. I feel a helmet is uncomfortable. It keeps me from going fast. It reminds me of high school hockey. I lost me front teeth by not wearing a mouth gaurd. I'm part of a walking accident? I assume I will never need these clues to keep my self from injury.

The first thing I thought. Ya know... After...

Again. Yes, the very first thing I thought after this cool spill? My Bike? Where "IS" my bike.

My brain was never 100 percent. My body was never 100 percent, "BUTT" the will has always been 100 percent.

Bathing, Bold and Yes - Be

Bathing in Boston could have been the theme in this year's Boston Marathon. It was wet and windy running in the eye of the 2007 Nor'Easter. The marathon started out with somewhat light rain and the sun even, almost shined. All ran and proved to be bold to face what may "BE" ahead of us as we aproached the Boylston Finish line! It was even great to be part of the tour, since we did not hear about the Negative part of the world. It's great being able to do something away from the news and hussle, greed and jelousy. The pitch in running the Boston marathon was chance to find way to finish through personal challenges. We can explore our minds to find will's and transcend a sense of accomplishment. We could have stayed home and bring out the T.V. to view downfalls.

I want to be the best I can be. Find ways to enjoy each day. In that, I participated in the 111st Boston marathon. Memory don't fail! I helped raise one hundred dollars at a run for a kid that died while enjoying his favorite sport of running. The people that lost their lives at School yesterday were in the same state. It's that finite moment where the decision to switch to the better part eternal cleanlyness. So, the donation verb of the memory run is my parrellel of something good in me to be the best for the good and the part that person would be in enjoy'en that day. I hope I don't forget this day.

Raggedy, 200,and ride

It was a raggedy run. Almost 200 pre-registered runners failed to show after a suprise snow sorm hit the area. The ride will not change.
The St patrick's celebration was fun and enjoyed all the steps to the Irish jig. It was my sixth annual run and look forward to it's dawn to spring into the running year!

Cruise, Rochester and Amerks

A six minute mile at Buffalo's Shamrock 8K is still at cruise control. Yes, even with a cold challenging wind today. Just can't wait until the half Iron this summer.

Like the Rocester Amerks, show they are having a thrill of a lifetime with the Sabres. Another Amerk scored the game winner in Toronto for the Buffalo Sabres.

Florida, 10 week and Eggwhite pizza

Celebrating this year's Superbowl with a eggwhite superbowl pizza. The 10 week count down to the running world marathon bowl is the Boston Marathon. Imagining being the football player as part of the ritchual in competing in the excitement.

Visited Mom and Jack in Florida. Competed in the Naples half marathon with a 1:23 ish run. Met their friends and ate out at a great local resaraunt! Talked of times past at the Augustine's. It was a great weekend and hope to return to the absolutly beautiful land.

It's just so tragic to find out when health stops the family enjoyment of life. Devastaion is in the Cousin's family and greif is felt accross the family.Questions are asked, like how can this be from a higher power placed upon us? I rememmber my sister's wedding and just having a great time together with everyone at that point. Years instilled then this.

So I did a long run. THe beginning started down this reconstructed through to a "No outlet Street". Yes, it took the town decades to figure out to place a cald sac. With inflation, compared to the Mr. Jobs hire at Apple. Yea, since his hire it's increased thier stock like 2,000 percent! The Caldesac, ditto it. I mean you create another road during the depression. So, you'd think to continue with an update to place the cal de sac on the road. And save the 2,000 percent inflation rate.

As I passed the updated road I noticed a person smoking. My mind switched to what obsessed the situation. I tried to compare it to myself. So It guess it makes sense. I kept the pace, 90 minutes apon my return, guess who's there. The same person smoking? How can that be? Why would someone be in that state? Is that person going through a tragic revelation? I try to analyze. Maybe I jump to conclusions, But I'm glad I resolve to the running aspect. My Cousin deserves a rocket to the alternative aspect of life. Run, Smoke and inflate history.

My mind is on fire.

What a year. Perfect time to be sick. Ran the RROY 10K to finish the year. Only 30 seconds off. Not bad considering the flu in me. Finished marathoning in Philly after NYC! Both a dream come true and don't plan on waking up. No changes for 2007! It's the name of the game- Run! I just need to ensure to button my Fly :/

It's like receiving my first bike when I was a kid. Running in Chicago was wild. To think of the 40,000 runners, I ran with a teammate from the 50 mile relay.

NYC is just, a word I could invent of total elaytion. Boston I hope too run with my friend from this summer! She worked the hills step for step this past Sunday. It seems she should easily be in the 111st Boston.

What an experience! Participated in a 50 mile relay with blue singlets under absolute blue skies around the Canandiagua lake. It was a experience will not forget. Rest is on the plate for the big trips to marathon land in Chicago and NYC. The team was competitive and PR'd last year's run.

God bless Ryan at Twincities Marathon. He's gone through an intense training program. It will be no surprise for him to attain the 2:20 mark, a team Olymic qualifier!

My season has begun. Rochester, Vineglass, Chicago and NYC are in check with no injuries. I was just tearing up when I was able to catch the elite front during the Rochester tour. No problem with with my end result of 3:12. It was just, to say the least FUN to lead. There were any fast runner's, but it consisted of an elite local runner, which droped out of the race.

The Rochester Marathon turned out to be a tour which I'm proud to state as unscathed! I had emptied the tank after a taste of the lead around mile 10. I will not forget running with the top local athlete for a few miles. I hope to transition the approach and stay on track for Chicago and NYC at the 25th annual Winglass. I love their shirt's and heard they plan to give out DVD's.

Feel great considering the pace and a "beauty bundle" helped and proved that injuries can be overcome. She proved how versitile she is and happy to be a part of her life! She's a billion dollar bundle of joy. A person of true fitness.

Irish,Saratoga And blood

What a finish for the summer of 2006! Played in my Brother's golf tournament and vacationed with the family the past week. Dad stated the golf tournament naming it the IRISH OPEN. Bro kept it going once Dad passed on. It was fitting to the summer and found out very intreging things!

I was matched up with a couple cousins for the 30th anual Irish open! Uncle Carl, Carl Jr and John attended the golf tournament from Syracuse. They were all very impressive on the links. Found out, the John participates in triathons. He placed twentyth and first in age in the Cazenovia triathon. Great to hear I've got blood in the family that does the samething!

Lake George was fun and went to a rodeo with the family. Had fun betting on the horses at Saratoga.

Triathon,Triathon and Triathon

The running world is not black and white after all. I've explored the world of Triathon's. Returned from Cayuga 's triathon today. They put on a tour that poured intregue into my running immunity. Yes, I assumed their was nothing else in the running world. Only to find a diverse competition in a sport of fitness.

Saturday ran a traditional 20k in Phelps then continued to the triathlon in Cayuga. It was a bit much, but only resulted in a sore back. Saw a chiropractor after the race and it seemed to help immensely. It stationed scenic views that impressed me the most. The scenery was a masterpiece. We ran the third leg in trails among streams, falls a cool mist. The water was refreshing. The biking was a challenge. Yet, hills should be part of a course to bring out the best of you. My second triathon has been concluded. The tour was viewed by me in less than 3 hours. I can hardly wait for next year!

Evolve, world and weight

I'm amazed how my world has evolved to the point of finishing my first triathlon, only to find out my first love at the age of eight was participating as well. This world of triatheletes is more fun than I thought. I was looking for something different and new competion. Still felt strong at the end of the .5 mile swim,22 mile bike and 5 mile run!

Met Dale and has a great story of losing mega pounds! Overweight at 300 lbs and participating in a triathon is just amazing. I look up to people like this. Feel so honored to touch their lives. It's like this new web site that should be my middle name "one hundred" www.eons.com

Putter, Peak and Power

I'm not ready for that putter, after all. This was my 20th marathon since 2001. Once again, held my own. Still at the 7:00 minute pace! Finished with a 3:01:10 at the Buffalo Marathon. That dates back to the 2004 Sandiego Marathon of 3:00:30.

This is the picture of the winner, training to run the 2007 Boston Marathon. It was a hot one. I seemed to handle the humidity well. I was chating comfortably with a runner, which finished a few positions ahead of me on mile 18. He said he also ran Boston and traded a few lifetime marathon highlights. I felt like at peak performance like that of years past.

I was concerned. It's like the gas prices. I was worried as my finish time increased. I had a minute, thirty second increase at the LILAC 10k compared to last years. I planned to see if I could improve on the shorter distance runs. Wanted to see if I could break the 17:00 minute mark at this year's ten ugly 5k. I know I have the endurance. Now I can put more focus on the core for power and speed. The increase in the finishing times will be filed as an excuse of cold weather.

Davinci, thought and Sodium

It was something you could not believe. A track laid down like something out of the
Da Vinci code. It was the first Rochester series race to post. Look, I simply asked for a change. Year's prior to this tour was a challenge to enjoy since your feet were subject to injury. Yes, the new track was like turf on a football field. It was set-up so professionally. The town put this race on a pedalstel. The angle was the "no Cone" tour. Anyone living off the route was given the opportunity to win 100 dollars. All they had to do was to register and run. Flyers were sent via e-mail. Local TV land communicated what the race was about and described it's mission.

It started out with interwiews and a special guest. TV 8 welcomed the big show! This turned into a hot race. They came from everywhere. The internet proved it's worth. The numbers were in hundreds. The guest even jumped in! Jim Kramer raised the stock of Perinton's 5k race. The gun sounded. The band on the trailer was pulled by The soy bean fueled hybrid. It positioned itself on the otherside of the track and flowed with all runner's to ensure the sounds were heard by all. This continued on for the first leg, one and a half miles.

The tour finished coming back along the Erie canal. The town set up a bout tour play'en Dixie. What a great idea and the scene was spectacular! I was impressed on the set up. I enjoyed it to the fullest. I felt like a pro player! I thought this just could not be true. I was astounded by the change from last year's run. It needed improvement, but to this extreme?

Wow! What a dream. I woke up with a pure Sodium withdraw sweat! I'll have to ensure the Red Bulls are on tap!

Astounding, Jerry and Scott

Never mind me. How about that Jerry and Scott. At 71 years young, Jerry runs today's 5k in 21:00 flat. Astounding coverage of the 10th annual "Young" 5k. How fitting of the name we toured today. Scott also a master's age of 44 runs a 15:00 ish! This guy seems to be getting younger!

Felt great despite the Boston Marathon Tour run last month. A great warm up for next week's Lilac 10k! There should be about 1000 participants. My toes are normal and starting to get back to normal training.

Timber, our dog got into a nasty dog fight yesterday and is on three legs. We are picking her up to take her out to go to the bathroom. Hope she gets back to her normal self.

306 in 2006, interest and perfect

A perfect day at the fest! The fitness festival, better known as the Boston Marathon was just a true super bowl. The weather was like a runner's dream come true- cool, cloudy with a slight wind on the back.

Like something as life goes on, interest is lost for whatever reason. But for the Boston marathon, it just amazes me that people can participate with so much rigor, year after year. The crowd is the prize. Words can't explain it. One dude said "the Sox won in the ninth, you can finish this!"

This was my 19 th marathon, 3rd Boston. It seemed just as intense as the first one three years ago. I ran the NYC marathon for the fist time last year, but the Boston people seem to view it differently. I mean kids and families seem to be more passionate about the event. Kids love to get the hand shake. They love to give out oranges, water and sponges, etc. It's like a parade to the Boston people.

I was able to catch up to the Father & Son team at mile 25. Runners were touching the Father on his back as he wheeled his son towards the finish line. I did the same and just got caught up in the hype. The crowd was screaming, just like the Wellesley girls. I kept looking back at them and got kind of emotional. It was a great feeling. I could see the determination on the Father's face. I hope I never forget that feeling.

I was very happy for my time of 3:06. Improvement is going to get more difficult, and just hope I can sustain that 7 minute mile. I had kidney issues and had to pee three times. Right there I could have broken 3:05. Then I had poor indigestion that eventually dissipated. But that lasted for about mile 10 to fifteen. It seemed to subside by the time heartbreak hill was eating at me. I did a "down down" at heart break! It was so fun to see the crowd go wild when I grabbed the beer. I only took a sip then poured the rest over my head.

My toes held up and my feet were much better than the previous ones. I'm close to figuring I need the cushion to survive the tour in one piece.

No marathon pictures from Boston. My camera didn't work and will have to get it repaired. I'll have to use other means to post the festival pictures.

I don't know how I can explain it, But I'm looking forward to having fun at a fitness festival called the Boston Marathon this weekend. It's one of the greatest tours in my mind since I've taken up running about 6 years ago. I just can't believe I missed out in my earlier years. I will savior every moment. The saying this year at Boston is the worship word. I do worship those people that go that extra mile and participate, donate, honor and compete. It's like no other.

Force, Froze and Feat

GVH has a new member which will bring the name a new meaning! Just another of quality runners on a team destined to put their name in IRON across the nation of cross country!

I went up to Mark and confirmed before the start and stated what a pleasure to meet him and welcomed him to GVH. What a quality runner he is, among the others. The ageless Scott Bagley, Jeff Beck, Ryan Pauling to name a few where in force today.

I did not dress properly and froze my agots off. It was a feat in itself to race today. A very brisk wind coming back for 2000 meter finish. It was about 32 degrees Fahrenheit- against wind, well it must have been like zero degrees. I questioned the length, but it may have made sense given my time, the hill coming back and the wind. I finished over 18:00. I'm usually around 17:30 - for a flat course.

Day, Jinx and Found

Found a way to finish today at the spring forward15k. The hills were an absolute test for Boston. The toe held up with the new asics! May have a slight blistering issue that I believe can be fixed.

The day was perfect. Sunny and cool. It started on the cool side but transitioned to day that most runners admire.

Pr'd by almost a minute. Broke 1:00:00! Finished with a 59:05. I believe I could have done better if I had no toe issue. But will not jinx myself, since I believe I may have fixed it temporarily? I was at the 6:00 minute pace untill mile 6. Then finished with only one 7:oo minute miler.

Toe, Crank and Nemis

Part of me is ready to crank it up. But my foot may be the nemis at the start of the 2006 running season! May try to wait until after the Boston trip to chop the toe nail. I'm hop'en to get by without missing the next three races.

Mac, Syracuse and Idol

WOW! What a trip for Jim Mac Namara and the Orangemen. They just won the BIG east basketball Tournament. This person is one of my idols! A guy that mostly everyone had written the Syracuse, NY team off for the big dance. They were an unrated team going into this tournament. Positioned in 9th place of 10 teams and just amazed every basketball fan. They Beat UCON, Georgetown and Pitt to win the big east. This is a picture of the major part of how they did it. Senior 6'1"- Jim Macnamara. I'd draft him jst for his heart!

Sorry, but that story takes the presidence of my run today. The weather was PERFECT! It was the first Rochester runner series race of 2006. There must have been 600 runners. I felt good going into the race. Still on my target of 6:00 minute pace. Finished with a 29:05, a pr of about 25 seconds. This was my fifth year of the runnning.

It seemed to be something out of a Harry Potter film. I was about 5 miles into my run. Not to mention I'm fortunate to live near wooded area. The weather was unlike this posted picture, but a presence of what I thought was a friendly beast.

It was dusk. As I glanced at the crescent moon. All at once, without notice, something jumped at me. It was a picture as published here. Dark shadows and a growl. A split second and a chance to be a part of history, the wrong way. My hands were up as quick as you can say "ashurbudee". Experts would say distortion was dusk, unevenness of the sunlight or poor stunt timing?

It happened anyways. As time had planed it. I over pronated and was bitten on the ear. I thought it was a deer or a happy dog. On contrary, I celebrate the days that I had. It seemed it was over. With no warning, only three inch teeth with a growl at a time measured in my mind as the speed of sound. I was overpowered and flipped like an Olympian ice skater. Blood gushed out like paradise island water. So true in color as my new red aisics.

Then a beautiful young Chinese women in a tank top sat me up and asked me what was my quest. It was then I woke up from this nightmare. Wow. What a dream. I hope that doesn't happen again.

sore, sick and Swagger

Well, back to the drawing board. It's been a tough week. Worked about 60 hours Sunday to Thursday for inventory. Plus on top of that had some kind of food poising and a sore left toe. On top of being sick, at my age I've got to work twice as hard to stay as competitive for someone at twenty years of age. I normally have been doing 25 to 40 miles per week in this off season. I've been going to the gym from two to three times a week.

So I posted this super bowl pick of the rolling stones trying to find a swagger in me to append the week. Today may be it. See how I feel in a bit to stomach a run and get the tongue back to normal. It's all in the mind body and soul.

Toes, GVH, and BRONX

This is the metal the master's received for placing second!My toes have beeen taking a beeting. This may be my first injury that will slow me down the next few weeks.

Experienced and learned a lot about the history at the the park through our coach. Allthough I believe through the coach's knowledge which set up a great cross country track here, I understand the tradition that was displayed at the BRONX.

The running Club placed 1st in the Men and Women's 50 age, 2nd in Masters, top 55 in open in Saturday's challenge. The top four in the open, which featured an international trip. Times, considering the weather that just astonished me. I ran about a 6:00 minute mile. These guys, lets say after 1k of running for me would be a 2k for them. Their run was a 4k since the Sunday run is going to be a featured 12k.

Entered another race today. Feel it's beter to help keep motivated. Resulted in a great run. Ran the same race two years ago. It was an eight miler. My pace went from a 6:22 to 5:57? Do I want to stay on the sled? Ashurbudee!

Squal, Bro and Europe

What a day. Ran my 9 miler in a wintery snow squal. I mean it was so miserable that people stopped by and asked if I needed a ride. I started out late before bro's super bowl festivities. The weather was touch and go. I got about a mile into it, when all of a sudden a squal hit. I could hardly keep my eyes open. A dude riding his bike on the other side had to get off of it and walk along it. I crossed to the other side and caught up to him about another mile into the testy weather. I called out "almost there"! He said something, but could not here him as I passed him. Then about 15 minutes later an SU van pulled up and rolled down the window. In it was the person riden the bike, in the passenger seat. A younger women about my age was driving and asked if I needed a ride. I told both of them I was running! They probably thought I was nuts? But I said thanks anyways as they continued on. I turned out to do a great run on the way back (with the wind).

The day continued at Bro's place. It was very feastive. Ate a half dozen home made wings. Not to mention chocalate candy, cookies and brownies. So I gained it all back. I hope to even that up on tomorrow's run on Empire.

The bowl was interesting. I liked the comercials. The cell phone that had sports as an option impressed me. Bid Daddy was knowout. The minni hummer was funny too.

I taped the Stones, which was the hight of the game. I'm still intreged with English soccer. The crowds just amaze me in Europe. I placed a link off to the right. It's the premier leauge. I want to run the London marathon some year.

Wow! It's time to get back to the city. There's a big cross country race I'm traing for being held somewhere in BRONX, NYC! This is a picture of me at the 2005 NYC Marathon!

Looking forward the the run there, the super bowl and the Bode Miller's winter olympics. Yea, I'm still at 150 lbs. Feel strong and plan to adding that hot Peper in those wings. Here's Tom Arnold's blog. He's in Detroit and predicts the Seahawks to win.

I've transisioned down on my mileage. Working more on core. Need to try to see if I can build muscle. It's so hard, cause the weight just falls right off. I think I eat about 5 meals per day. From bowls of gronola, fish, whole grain bread and of course those eggwhites. Today I fried turkey meat in my eggwhite omlete. My meal times are off since I work wierd hours. That's why I got that little tire pouch. Do you know how long a camel can go without water? Yes, ONE YEAR. That is amazing.

Roll, Found and a pound

Don't put out the fire. I found a way to run with that fire from below. Everthing worked out and still on a roll. Able to break 40:00, despite the monster hills. It was an absolute great day as well. Shorts and a t-shirt was all you needed. I felt heavy, from possibly to much eggwhite from the previous night. But I'm sure I shaved off that extra pound.

Feeling a bit lazy. Done a lot of hours at work. Feel slow and will see how the run goes tomorrow. Been over eating but able to hold my weight. I will say more than not that I've got the American bug. The life of over eating, but still has not gotten the best of me. I can remember when I was younger, rebeling about having to take out the garbage.

HIBERNATE, rest and drawing board

Hibernating well. I plan to add a 10k tour Saturday to add in my field of dreams this year. I think it's going to be my 123rd documented workout in 5 years! I believe I'm getting the rest and feel I don't need to go back to the drawing board! My eating habits are more quality, although it's not according to the Running world's last issue. I still plan to experiment. Still on track for Boston in April!

Golf, Pop Tarts and Magazine

At times I felt like golfing this week? NOT. I just love to indulge on that great American treat, Pop Tarts. Man, it is not easy staying focused away from eating junk food.

Then I received runner's world magazine and got that little push. They have great artricles. I'll try to see if I can follow their eating plan. The following is what I had today. Tim Horton's coffee with cream and sugar and two cinamon pop tarts. Peanut buter and fluff with mutigrain bread. Then four bowls of Wegmans Granola Cereal with Raisins. Five vending packages of M&M's peanuts. Salmon with yams, egghites beans and brocili. I looked at the side nutrition facts and it says that ther's 9- 14% saturated fat in it.

I'm set for my third consequtive Boston tour! Hope to at least stay around a 7:00 minute pace. I'm due vacation days this year at my new job. Confirmed to stay in the city to enjoy the and possibly take in more of the "finish line" like the first year I was there. This will be my third consequtive Boston Marathon.

I set up a link for my running history on a seperate blog @ timdwyer2006.blogspot.com! I basically follow the websites training guide. i'm usually at a 40 to 50 mile weekly average. And use the the races as my lung workout.

I try not to go into to much running detail. Will post common threads of my life thing as I work up to this ultimate experience!

Flutie, enjoy and fun

What a great idea. Flutie did a drop kick in the NFL, yesterday! I'm impressed that such a player can exist in such a spectacle. This picture is off of the TV. It's not to good of a quality shot. Hope you can see him drop it to convert the kick after one bounce. He was a about twenty yards out. He said in the interview after the game that he was out there to enjoy the game and have fun. Below are cereal boxes of Flutie when he played with my favorite NFL team- the Buffalo bills. A timeless player that is true to the sport. A perfect player that I would brand on my jersey. Below are first, second and third editions of cereal boxes when he played in Buffalo in 2000. He since has been traded and played in San Diego before this year ending in where his career started in Boston. This who I am, this is clear, this is where I wish he was from. I'm so lucky to have such a great family. Started the celebration over at Bro's, with his kids, my older sister, Mom and Jack. Had a Turkey in a deep friar. Turned out very tasty.
Exchanged gifts with his kids and received a beautiful fold out picture of Mom and Jack, my sisters, and the decorated 57' Chevy. Christmas continues over at Mom and Jack's place, and finishing at my other sister's place. I look up to each one of them and their peers. They all have a special unique quality that just amazes me. I feel I have branched out, but as a positive point. It was a great year and still many more events to enjoy with the family and our roots. It will only get more enjoyable. Something the family will grasp and celebrate the adventure. I'm sure it will get windy. The tree will wave, but it will not uproot or fall.

The best award for the year was at Virginia Beach. Finished 2nd in age and top 100 of 17,000. My pace was about 6:10 minute per mile. Felt strong throughout the tour!

Ran for the first time today after a two week rest! Celebrated thanksgiving and the year. Many highlights! This is me opening a Champane bottle won at Corning.

It was a great finish to an interesting year of running. I finished with a total of over 300 miles! The Vegas trip was a challenge and once again held my own. Finished with a 3:05. I think I'm at that point of just tring to stay at my paces.

Talk about a small world. In Vegas I was able to get an autographed Vegas poster signed by Bill Rogers. Turns out he knows my highschool hockey coach. My hockey coach turned to running and heads a running series and puts on local running races.

The the last marathon was a challenge. I was not able to warm up. My calves were sore from the start. My slower miles were in the beginning, plus that's when there were head winds.

It' been a great ride and don't plan to fall off. Well untill 1/1/06, which is my next race, have a great finish to the year! My goal is to PR in Boston (under 3:10:00) and the ten ugly 5k( under 16:50)!

Yes, or how about holy b jesus. or What ya smok'en bubba. or howdie doodie! What ever got into me today! I can't explain it. Here it is November 28th, 2005! I PR'd my nine mile Empire run. The last time I did that was like June 6th, 2005!

Well, it was like 65 degrees out. I ran without a shirt and had shorts on. What a day! Here's the break down of the run:

the street 3:29 usually I start at 4:00
empire out 29:59 usually the range is from 32:00 to 34:00
back 800 4:46 usually 6:00 to 6:30
hill 2:53 usually 3:00 to 3:30
back empire 23:08 usually 26:00 to 28:00
back street 2:53 usually 3:30

GRACE,Inferno and webs

It's been a ride I will not get off. Still have the inferno in me. Ran the "GRACE" 10k still under a 6:00 minute pace! I still love the competition. Was running right along an elite runner towards the end of the Grace run. This was after major head winds and side squall's! Below are my finishing times for the GRACE 10k:

So, I'm still desired to stay with my pace. My last marathon for the year is next week. Took the day off today. Went to Niagara University Hockey game at the Blue cross arena. They came back and tied it, but lost 5-3 in the end. Tomorrow's long run will be added to my core training.

An Honor

It's an absolute HONOR to participate in a race that elite runner's enter. This a photo of Scott Bagley (on the left) just edged out at yesterday's National Master's 10k Championship. A fierce competitor. He ran a 5:15 minute pace. Spoke with him after the race and said planned to run a race today! I was going to run in it as well, but overslept. It was probably a good thing, since I was feeling very sore.

Next up it the GRACE 10k this Thursday. Weather is predicted to worsen. With one great forecast for tomorrow then a "nor-eastern" to hit starting Tuesday. That term has something to do with winds coming from the north east. The storm will come up the coast and we get the brunt of it from one of its directions. So, this could prove to be pivotal with this Series run. It's the last of the planned Rochester races. I'm one point behind the leader of my age bracket.

Ran a 6:01 pace for the 10K run. Was able to hold my own. The competition was fierce. Many quality runners from the nation. There were about 900 runners total between all clubs from California, Minnesota and Mass.. The pictures do not do justice. There should be many on the web site above.

These are the open men's pictures. They mainly averages from 4:50's to 5:30 minute miles. Just astonishing. I'm glad to be a part of it. So much went into it.

Rest, Run, and Feast

Well, trying for a different angle for next week's Cross country championship. I had a much deserved rest from my marathons. So, I stayed in the rest mode this week. Really only did a 45 minute tread mill yesterday.

Then go into tomorrow with a faster tempo on the normal Empire run. It consists of hills, trails and fast road racing possibilities. I hope to at least post under the 6 minute trail mile like Schenectady Master's run.

Eating will like always be a challenge. Can't seem to stop and control it. I'm good on the night before a race , for the most part. But, man it just seems anything I get is consumed quickly.

Simple, Savor, and Second to none

Well I can't believe I made it. It was an astonishing trip the past few weeks. But it came down to a simple man I met on the way to NYC. I had stopped at a rest area about 3:00AM along the scenic route to NYC. I try to stay away from the mainstream roads and take in the views. This security person was smoking a cigarette. Sitting in an uncomfortable chair, he seemed so content. Just staring and observing. I'm sure that's their job. It just seemed his point of view on life was the same as what I perceive mine as. I seem to be content at what I do. He seemed content at what he does. Yet two different worlds. I took that view into the NYC marathon. I felt bad for another runner that stated that at age 65 said he was done with running and going back to skiing. With much more to say. I couldn't believe my ears. I viewed all three of us as SIMPLE.

A 3:08, 3:09 in DC and NYC. No injuries. I 'm savoring the moment on my blog! I'm so lucky to be able to participate in the runs. My highlight of my life. I still have more to enjoy. My body is asking for a time out. I'm really only sore in a few places. Both were a challenge and second to none in my mind. Boston of course is there, but back to back at these were something to attest to. I've only done a hand full of cities, but it's been a long strange trip so far.

It was cool to here from another about how he heard about the feast of the east after mentioning where I was from. Plus I actually saw a runner from our running club in the NYC marathon!

Next up is the feast- a 10k national cross country championship, then another 10k GRACE, which is a Rochester running race and the last marathon for the year in Vegas!

Yes. NO INJURIES! Ran great. That was the most difficult of my 15 marathons. My legs felt like ") (" the last 800 meters. Can hardly wait for NYC!

My system is down at home. Updating today. Still in line for next week's adventure to DC then NYC! So excited! Want to place an exclamation point after each sentence! Ran a PR for a 5K last week at the hospice, then ran the master's 5k in Saratoga the next day.

Great run at the wine glass! Just like the Rochester marathon. No injuries to report! I feel great going into Marine cor and NYC! Can hardly wait.
Took the day off today, but I think I could run. Will be happy to get into it tomorrow!

Sorry, For the delay. Like Hockey I'm back up and running. I've decided to add another marathon in my mix. Felt great this past weekend by running with GVH in Baldwinsville and the Bruegal's Bagel 5k. So, I need long runs for the DC and NYC trip. So the update will be as follows:

Mustard and the first Rochester Marathon 2005

Absolutly, enjoyed the first running of the Rochester Marathon. Ran a 3:05. Could have done better. In May ran Buffalo just under a 3:08. There I started to slow. In Rochester I was to excited, running to fast the first leg of the marathon. It was just about as competitive as Buffalo. I finished second in Masters. There were no Kenyans.

No injuries! I was doing 6:30 paces. Should have slowed to about 6:50. My competition beet me in the last mile :-( He lives near me and we ran in the beggining at Boston this year. I had no idea where I was at the end and could not "MUSTARD" a kick.
